Halsey's 'Without Me' Hits No. 1 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart
Plus, moves for Ariana Grande, Marshmello & Bastille and more.
Halsey hikes to No. 1 on Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart (dated March 9), as "Without Me" lifts 2-1. Her third topper follows "Bad at Love" in January 2018 and her featured turn on The Chainsmokers' "Closer," which reigned for a record 20 weeks in September 2016-January 2017.
Halsey's latest leader, remixed by Illenium, Dillon Francis and Hook 'N Sling, among others, ruled Dance Club Songs in December. As previously reported, the single also hits No. 1 on the March 9-dated all-genre Radio Songs chart.
Continuing with Dance/Mix Show Airplay, former Dance Chart Upstart act CamelPhat claims its third top 10 and Cristoph, his first, with "Breathe," featuring Jem Cooke, who also earns her first (11-5).
Plus, Ariana Grande adds her 12th top 10 on the chart with "7 Rings" (14-6) and Post Malone prances to his sixth and Swae Lee, his third, with "Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse)" (13-7).
THEY'RE EVEN 'HAPPIER': Marshmello and Bastille tally a 26th week at No. 1 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales with "Happier," a new record dating to the chart's January 2010 inception. The song bests Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey's 25-week reign with "The Middle" in 2018.
"Happier" has also passed a half-million in download sales (516,000 to date), according to Nielsen Music.
BEST 'FEELING': European duo IYES (Josh Christopher and Melis Soyaslanova), teaming with Australian producer Ryan Riback, accelerates 2-1 on Dance Club Songs with "This Feeling." The first Billboard No. 1 for both acts, the track was remixed by, among others, StoneBridge & Damien Hall, Bimbo Jones and Teo Mandrelli.
IYES' Christopher tells Billboard, "'This Feeling' was written about unadulterated love, the kind of love that happens out of nowhere and surprises you. It's the love you can't stop feeling, the type that just feels good. Although it is a love song, it also applies to the feelings you can have in a great friendship or with your family."
'DEEP' CUTS: Jumping to Dance/Electronic Album Sales, DJs James Grant and Jody Wisternoff start at the summit with Anjunadeep 10: Mixed By (1,000 copies sold). It's the best opening sales week for an Anjunadeep compilation and the first to hit No. 1.
