The track surpasses Rise Against's "Savior" for the most weeks spent on the survey.
A record on Billboard's Alternative Songs airplay chart has been, fittingly, broken by a song called "Broken."
lovelytheband's "Broken" becomes the longest-running song in the chart's three-decade history, spending its 66th week on the list (dated March 2). It claims the mark from Rise Against's "Savior," which logged 65 frames from July 2009 to September 2010 and held the record for over eight years.
Unlike "Savior," which peaked at No. 3 during its run, "Broken" tallied nine weeks at No. 1, beginning last April. Its 66-week streak on the chart even outlasted the entirety of the run of its follow-up single, "These Are My Friends," which peaked at No. 10 in December 2018. A third single, "Maybe, I'm Afraid," this week rises 34-32.
