Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats' 'Hey Mama' Hits No. 1 On Adult Alternative Songs Chart
The act earns its third leader and second from "Tearing at the Seams."
"Mama" is the Colorado band's first No. 1 on the list since "You Worry Me," which climbed to the top of the ranking dated Feb. 10, 2018, and ruled for nine weeks. The group's initial chart-topper, "S.O.B.," led for four weeks in fall 2015.
"Mama" is the latest triumph for Rateliff and co. on Adult Alternative Songs; its two preceding singles, "Worry" and the No. 2-peaking "A Little Honey," wrapped as the top two songs on Billboard's year-end Adult Alternative Songs chart for 2018, making the band the first to score both Nos. 1 and 2 on a year-end ranking since the chart began in 1996.
Six of Rateliff's seven charting singles on Adult Alternative Songs have reached the top 10; "Wasting Time" reached No. 21 in December 2016.
"Mama" concurrently reaches a new peak of No. 35 on the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart, earning 1.6 million audience impressions (up 24 percent) in the week ending Jan. 27, according to Nielsen Music.
"Mama" is the third single from Tearing at the Seams, the band's second studio album. It debuted and peaked at a career-best No. 11 on the Billboard 200 last March.
