Maggie Rogers nabs her first No. 1 on a Billboard chart, as "Light On" lifts 2-1 on the Adult Alternative Songs tally dated Jan. 12.

The song is the lead single from Rogers' debut major-label full-length, Heard It in a Past Life, which is due Jan. 18.

In November, "Light On" became Rogers' first top 10 on the list, surpassing the No. 13 peak of her debut entry "Alaska" in February 2017. Follow-up "On + Off" reached No. 20 in May 2017.

Rogers is the first act to score a first Adult Alternative Songs No. 1 in 2019. She's also the first newcomer to the chart's pinnacle in a lead role since Jade Bird, whose "Lottery" topped the tally in April 2018.

Rogers is one of four solo women to rule Adult Alternative Songs since the beginning of 2018, joining Bird, Alice Merton ("No Roots") and, most recently, Elle King ("Shame").

"Light On" concurrently rises 43-42 on the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart with 1.5 million audience impressions, up 8 percent in the week ending Jan. 6, according to Nielsen Music.

Rogers made her Saturday Night Live debut Nov. 3, performing "Light On" and "Fallingwater," both from Heard It in a Past Life. The set follows the February 2017 release of Rogers' debut Capitol EP Now That the Light Is Fading.
