"Lose It" is the lead single from Brown's sophomore LP, Experiment, the country star's second No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, dated Nov. 24, earning 124,000 equivalent album units (105,000 in traditional album sales) in its first week, ending Nov. 15, according to Nielsen Music. The sums mark Brown's biggest week in both consumption and album sales.
Brown is the first artist to lead Hot Country Songs and Top Country Albums simultaneously since he did so on Oct. 28, 2017, when "What Ifs" spent its second of five weeks at No. 1 on the former and Kane Brown led the latter. His self-titled first LP debuted atop the Dec. 24, 2016-dated Top Country Albums chart, adding 11 more weeks at the summit, beginning Oct. 28, 2017, following its reissue with bonus tracks. The set reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
On the all-genre Billboard 200, Experiment enters as Brown's first No. 1. It's also the third country set to lead the list in 2018, following Carrie Underwood's Cry Pretty (Sept. 29) and Jason Aldean's Rearview Town (April 28); four did so in 2017.
"Lose It" lifts 6-2 on Country Streaming Songs (8.7 million U.S. streams, up 27 percent) and 5-3 on the Country Airplay chart (36.1 million in audience, up 10 percent). Along with "Lose It," four other Experiment tracks sit on the Hot Country Songs chart this week, with "Homesick" at No. 28, "Good as You" at No. 32, "Weekend" at No. 40 and "Baby Come Back to Me" at No. 42.
Brown signed to RCA Nashville in early 2016 after building a strong following through social media starting in 2014, mainly by posting covers of songs by such artists as George Strait, Brantley Gilbert and Alan Jackson. Prior to his deal with RCA, Brown independently released the six-song EP Closer, which debuted on Top Country Albums at No. 22 in June 2015 and peaked at No. 7 that November. Five-song follow-up EP Chapter 1 (on RCA) debuted and peaked at No. 3 in April 2016.
