RM Of BTS Rules Emerging Artists Chart, Billie Eilish Rises to No. 2

RM becomes the first solo member of BTS to lead the list.

BTS member RM (full name: Kim Nam-joon) earns his first solo No. 1 on a Billboard chart, as the rapper re-enters atop Billboard's Emerging Artists survey (dated Nov. 3).

RM leads the list on the strength of his sophomore solo mixtape Mono., which arrives at No. 2 on World Albums and No. 26 on the Billboard 200 with 21,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music.

RM concurrently lands six songs on the World Digital Song Sales chart, led by "Seoul" at No. 5.

The rapper had previously spent one week on Emerging Artists, at No. 46 in January. He's one of three members of BTS to reach the ranking solo. J-Hope hit No. 3 in March, powered by his first solo EP Hope World, and Agust D (who goes by Suga in BTS) debuted and peaked at No. 46 the same month.

The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. (The Artist 100 lists the most popular acts, overall, each week.) However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard's "Hot" song genre charts and/or consumption-based "Top" album genre rankings.

Billie Eilish jumps from No. 8 to No. 2 on Emerging Artists, as her new single "When the Party's Over" debuts at No. 65, marking a new personal-best rank, on the Hot 100. Eilish, 16, also hits a new high on the Alternative Songs airplay chart, as "You Should See Me in a Crown" ascends 13-12.

Rounding out the Emerging Artists chart's top five, lovelytheband falls to No. 3 after three weeks in the lead, Lauv rises 5-4 and NCT 127 dips 2-5.

Plus, Summer Walker debuts at No. 31 on Emerging Artists, as her debut LP Last Day of Summer opens at No. 6 on Top R&B Albums and No. 44 on the Billboard 200 with 14,000 units.
