“Promises” by Calvin Harris & Sam Smith tops the U.K. singles chart for a fifth week.

On this week's Official Charts Company survey, an act whose first U.K. album chart appearance came in 1970 beats one whose debut was in 1965. Rod Stewart claims his ninth solo No. 1 with Blood Red Roses, ahead of Cher's Dancing Queen, which arrives at No. 2.

Stewart's 1970 debut came with Gasoline Alley, before Every Picture Tells a Story topped the list in 1971. Cher first figured on the U.K. album countdown with 1965's All I Really Want to Do. Stewart's new Blood Red Roses set logs 41,000 combined units, while Cher's debut is her best showing since Greatest Hits 1965-1992 -- which reached No. 1 in 1992. “Promises” by Calvin Harris and Sam Smith tops the singles chart for a fifth week.

The Greatest Showman dips 2-3 and Eminem's four-week reign with Kamikaze ends with a fall to No. 4. Arriving this week, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V (Cash Money Records) makes it to No. 5. The former No. 1s Staying at Tamara's by George Ezra and the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again soundtrack move back 11-6 and 8-7, respectively.

Chas & Dave's Gold enters at No. 8 after the death of one-half of the London duo, Chas Hodges. Nile Rodgers & Chic start at No. 10 with It's About Time, while Now That's What I Call Music! 100 spends an 11th week atop the compilation chart, and fourth consecutively.

“Promises” finishes 12,000 combined units ahead of “Happier” by Marshmello and Bastille -- which climbs 4-2 on the singles chart. Kanye West and Lil Pump's “I Love It” holds at No. 3, while “Electricity” by Silk City featuring Dua Lipa climbs 7-4. “In My Mind” by Dynoro and Gigi D'Agostino is up 8-5.

Rita Ora jumps 14-6 with “Let You Love Me” -- a record-breaking 13th U.K. top 10 single for the British female solo artist. Shirley Bassey and Petula Clark are on 12 each. Jess Glynne's “All I Am” is up again, 9-7, and Freya Ridings scores her first top 10 single, as “Lost Without You” moves 20-9, while Ezra's former No. 1 “Shotgun” rebounds 16-10.
