The band had previously peaked as high as No. 15 with "She's Kinda Hot" in 2015.

5 Seconds of Summer score their first No. 1 on Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart, as "Youngblood" bounds 4-1 on the survey dated Oct. 6.

The honor is the latest for the Australian band with the song, which a week ago became its first top 10 on the all-genre, airplay-, streaming- and sales-based Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The Pop Songs survey (which in 2017 celebrated its 25th anniversary) measures total weekly plays, as tabulated by Nielsen Music, among its reporting panel of 167 mainstream top 40 stations.

Before "Youngblood," which leaps with Greatest Gainer honors (up 10 percent in plays) for a third consecutive week, 5SOS had peaked as high as No. 15 on Pop Songs with "She's Kinda Hot" in 2015. Greg Marella, Capitol Music Group executive vp promotion, recently told Billboard of "Youngblood," "the band made a hit record. It connected."

Here's a chronological look at the band's Pop Songs chart history:
