As “Boo’d” retains the No. 1 position on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, it also wins a 12th term atop the Adult R&B Songs airplay chart, though it falls 3 percent in plays in the week ending Sept. 23. Its latest frame makes it the third longest-running No. 1 debut hit on the chart, trailing only Robin Thicke’s “Lost Without You” (15 weeks, 2007) and Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” (13 weeks, 2014-15).
Mai’s follow-up single “Trip” is quickly advancing at radio. The song lifts 10-5 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay with a 14 percent surge to 20.7 million in audience in the week ending Sept. 20, while it climbs 25-19 on the Rhythmic Songs airplay chart through a 22 percent boost in plays during the same period.
“Boo’d” and “Trip” will both feature on Mai’s recently announced self-titled debut full-length album, due Oct. 12.
