Post Malone's 'Beerbongs & Bentleys' Heading For Third Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart
Plus: P!nk’s “Beautiful Trauma” aiming for top 10 return, while Playboi Carti, Charlie Puth and Arctic Monkeys all on course for top 10 debuts.
Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys is on course for a third straight week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, according to industry forecasters. Those in the know suggest the set may earn perhaps 140,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 17, with the bulk of that sum driven by streaming activity.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the May 26-dated Billboard 200 chart is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, May 20.
As for the rest of next week’s top 10, watch for a surging P!nk to possibly vault from No. 83 to No. 2 with her former No. 1 Beautiful Trauma. The set — which debuted atop the list last November — will benefit from sales generated from a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with the next leg of the diva’s tour, which went on sale May 11. It could snare over 80,000 in equivalent album units in the week ending May 17.
Playboi Carti’s surprise release Die Lit could earn perhaps 65,000 units, which may place the set in next week’s top five. That would give the rapper his highest charting set yet — and first top 10 — surpassing the No. 12 debut and peak of his self-titled 2017 release.
Meanwhile, singer-songwriter Charlie Puth is on course for his second top 10 effort, as his sophomore full-length studio set Voicenotes may bow with around 55,000 to 60,000 units. Puth’s first full-length album, Nine Track Mind, debuted and peaked at No. 6 in 2016.
Lastly, rock band Arctic Monkeys could snag their third top 10 with Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, earning perhaps 40,000 units. It’s the group’s first album since 2013’s AM, which reached No. 6.
