Plus: The top 10 will likely greet debuts from David Byrne & Lil Yachty.
Logic’s new album, Bobby Tarantino II, is heading for a No. 1 debut on next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart, according to industry forecasters. The set -- released on March 9 via Visionary/Def Jam -- could launch with around 120,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending March 15. The album follows his first No. 1 set, Everybody, which bowed atop the list dated May 27, 2017.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the new March 24-dated Billboard 200 chart (where Logic could debut at No. 1) is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, March 18.
Elsewhere in next week’s top 10, watch for David Byrne to score his highest-charting album ever, as American Utopia could launch in the top five. The set -- his first solo effort since 2004’s Grown Backwards -- may earn over 60,000 equivalent album units, and grant Byrne his first top 10 set. His high-water mark on the tally is currently a No. 23 peak with his 2012’s Love This Giant, a collaborative effort with St. Vincent.
