Rapper Nipsey Hussle and singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile are aiming for top 10 debuts on the Billboard 200 chart next week with their latest albums. According to industry forecasters, Nipsey Hussle’s debut studio effort, Victory Lap, and Carlile’s new By the Way, I Forgive You could both launch with around 40,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Feb. 22. Both albums were released on Feb. 16.
It’s expected that Black Panther: The Album will hold at No. 1 for a second week, with perhaps 130,000 units.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the new March 3, 2018-dated Billboard 200 chart (where Black Panther may score a second week at No. 1) is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, Feb. 25.
