Country singer-songwriter Devin Dawson is the top emerging act in the U.S. for the first time, as he leaps 8-1 on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart (dated Feb. 3).
The 28-year-old's rise is powered by his debut LP Dark Horse, which opens at No. 5 on Top Country Albums and at No. 50 on the Billboard 200 with 11,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music.
The set's breakthrough single, "All on Me," hits the top 10 of the Country Airplay chart, rising 13-10 and gaining 12 percent to 26 million radio audience impressions. The single also reaches a new peak on the Hot Country Songs chart (No. 13) and matches its No. 81 Billboard Hot 100 high. It additionally increases by 16 percent to 4.6 million U.S. streams and 18 percent to 8,000 downloads sold.
