Plus, Jhene Aiko earns a new top 10 song, while Vivian Green and Charlie Wilson make moves on Adult R&B Songs.

G-Eazy’s The Beautiful & Damned reaches No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart (dated Jan. 13) as it jumps 3-1 in its third week on the list. The set makes an identical jump to crown the Top Rap Albums ranking.

Beautiful reigns thanks to 42,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Jan. 4, according to Nielsen Music, a 16 percent dip from the prior frame. Despite the decline, the album’s performance is in line with most of the top titles on the chart. Nine of the week’s top 10 albums suffer a drop in units compared with the prior week.

As Beautiful scales the summit, G-Eazy acquires his third leader on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. His two previous studio albums, 2014’s These Things Happen and 2015’s When It’s Dark Out, each debuted in the top spot and held it for a single week.

The rapper has more to celebrate, as the Beautiful cut “Him & I,” with Halsey, hits a new peak on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, with a 13-7 hike. Its previous high came with its No. 9 debut on the Dec. 23, 2017-dated list. The collaboration takes the chart’s Airplay Gainer award, and moves to 34 million in radio audience in the week ending Jan. 7, according to Nielsen Music, up 17 percent. “Him” also flies 11-4 on R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales (32,000 weekly downloads through Jan. 4, up 9 percent) and struts 16-11 on R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs (18.6 million U.S. streams, up 6 percent).

G-Eazy boasts a second top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs as “No Limit,” featuring A$AP Rocky and Cardi B parks in the runner-up spot for a second turn.

Jhene Jumps: Meanwhile, Jhene Aiko notches a top 10 hit on the Hot R&B Songs chart as “While We’re Young” lifts 11-10 in its 15th week. The tune rolls to 9 million in format audience, though it retreats 25-27 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, and pulls 3.5 million U.S. streams (up 5 percent) and 2,000 downloads (down 14 percent.)

The song marks Aiko's third visit to top 10 of Hot R&B Songs, after “The Worst” hit No. 9 in 2014 and Omarion’s “Post To Be,” which featured her and Chris Brown, halted at No. 2 for seven weeks in 2015. "Young" features on Aiko’s Trip album, which became her third No. 1 set as a soloist on the R&B Albums upon its debut in 2017.

Green & Wilson Hit Top 10: Plus, the Adult R&B Songs airplay chart gains two new entries in the top 10, led by Vivian Green’s “I Don’t Know.” The track surges 11-9 with an 18 percent boost in plays for the week. “Know” secures Green’s fifth top 10 on the ranking, a sum that includes two No. 1s – “Emotional Rollercoaster,” a one-week leader in 2003 and “Gotta Go Gotta Leave (Tired)” which ruled for two weeks in 2005.

Just below Green, Charlie Wilson’s “Chills” glides 12-10. The tune benefits from a 15 percent growth in plays for the week. “Chills” gives the R&B legend, who served as lead vocalist for The Gap Band before he transitioned to a solo career in 1992, his 11th top 10 on the survey. He scored his first visit to the tier with the No. 2-peaking “Without You” in 2000.

Among his 11 top 10s, five tunes went all the way to the top: “Charlie Last Name: Wilson” (four weeks at No. 1, 2005), “There Goes My Baby” (nine weeks, 2009), “You Are” (13 weeks, 2010-11), “My Love Is All I Have” (five weeks, 2013) and the T.I.-assisted “I’m Blessed” (two weeks, 2017).
