The lead single from the band's upcoming 14th studio album starts at No. 11 on Hot Rock Songs.
U2's new single "You're the Best Thing About Me" debuts on multiple Billboard rock charts following its Sept. 6 release, including at No. 11, the band's highest rank yet, on Hot Rock Songs (which began in 2009).
The track launches at No. 6 on both Rock Digital Song Sales and Alternative Digital Song Sales with 8,000 downloads sold in the week ending Sept. 7, according to Nielsen Music. On the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart, the song bows at No. 22, racking up 3.1 million audience impressions over its first five days (through Sept. 10).
The song also debuts at Nos. 18 and 36 on the Adult Alternative Songs and Alternative Songs airplay charts, respectively. The band logs its record-extending 42nd entry on the latter list (which began in 1988), pushing its lead over second-place Pearl Jam to a four-song difference.
