"My Fire" is the seventh leader for Moran, fifth for Rodgers & first for Chic vocalist Davis.

Nile Rodgers scores his fifth No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart (dated July 29), as “My Fire” with Tony Moran and presenting Kimberly Davis, rises 3-1 in its eighth week on the chart. For producer Moran, it's seventh chart topper, and for Davis, it's her first leader.

Two-time Grammy Award nominee Moran produced the song, with Davis -- a singer with Rodgers' band Chic -- on vocals. Rodgers later hopped onto the track to play guitar.

Rodgers tells Billboard that after hearing the track for the first time, “It felt like a song I’d love to play on. I laughed and said, ‘Plug me in!’” Upon hearing the song hit No. 1, Rodgers, whose birthday is in September, said "this is the coolest early birthday present I've ever received."

As for Rodgers' thoughts on Davis and what he admires in her as a singer and artist, the three-time Grammy winner says, “I love Kim's dedication to getting every possible emotion out of a song. Many people have a tendency to underestimate the message of songs that get you on the dance floor; not Kim. She is a true storyteller and artist. She makes you feel a song."

Davis also shared her excitement with Billboard, saying she was “totally humbled” to hear her song hit No. 1. “I’m bubbling with excitement -- who would have thought this collaboration with Nile, Tony and I would be a No. 1 hit?”

“My Fire” also climbs to No. 33 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

Adds Moran, “I’m grateful for the outpouring of support from DJs and fans around the world, and for the joy of working with talents like Nile and Kimberly.”
