Shakira’s latest album, El Dorado, rises to No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart (dated July 1) in its third week on the list (climbing 2-1), on the strength of 8,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending June 15 (down 22 percent), according to Nielsen Music.
The rise earns Shakira her sixth No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart and first since 2010’s Sale El Sol (her previous Spanish-language studio effort), which spent 12 weeks atop the chart. Among female soloists, only Jenni Rivera and Selena (seven No. 1s each) have more chart-toppers on Top Latin Albums. Marco Antonio Solis holds the most No. 1s with 12.
