Kygo & Ellie Goulding's 'First Time' Starts in Top 10 of Hot Dance/Electronic Songs
Plus, moves for Afrojack, David Guetta, Sigma & Yellow Claw.
The track, the third top 10 debut for the Norwegian DJ and second for the English singer, is the fourth overall top 10 for both. "First" found 5.8 million U.S. streams and sold 27,000 downloads in its inaugural week, according to Nielsen Music. Concurrently, the collab starts at No. 11 on Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs and No. 4 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales.
"First" is Kygo's second top 10 debut on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs this year, following "It Ain't Me" (by Kygo x Selena Gomez), which started at No. 9 on March 4, making him the only act in 2017 to start in the top 10 with two newly released songs.
"Ain't," meanwhile, continues its Hot Dance/Electronic Songs ascent, bulleting to No. 2 with 97 million radio audience impressions, 17.5 million domestic streams and 43,000 downloads sold.
Afrojack and David Guetta also debut on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, at No. 35, with "Another Life," featuring Ester Dean. Dating to the chart's January 2013 launch, Guetta earns his 23rd entry, tying The Chainsmokers for the third-best sum, below only Skrillex (25) and Avicii (24). "Another" marks Afrojack's 11th appearance and Dean's first.
"Life" is the first pairing of the superstar Dutch and French DJs in two years (and first so far as co-leads) since "Hey Mama" (by Guetta featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha and Afrojack), which spent a hefty 11 weeks at No. 1 (becoming the only No. 1 for all acts involved). In its first week of availability, "Another" drew 668,000 domestic streams and sold 3,000 downloads.
On Dance Club Songs, "Find Me," by British DJ duo Sigma (Cameron Edwards and Joseph Lenzie), featuring singer Birdy, perches at the top (2-1). The first leader for both acts flew to No. 1 with the aid of remixes by LAAW, Tom Zanetti & K. O. Kane and Zac Samuel, among others.
Plus, Dutch DJ duo Yellow Claw (Jim Aasgier and Nils) cracks the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart's top 10 for the first time with "Good Day," featuring DJ Snake and Elliphant (12-9). "Good" marks the French DJ/producer's sixth trip to the top 10 (a travelogue that includes two No. 1s) and the Swedish singer Elliphant's first.
