Celebrate Cinco de Mayo With the Top 25 Hot Latin Songs by Mexican Acts: From Juan Gabriel to Selena & More

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, Billboard looks back at the top songs by Mexican acts.

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, Billboard has compiled the top songs of all time by acts of Mexican heritage on the Hot Latin Songs chart (which launched in 1986).

Alejandro Fernandez claims the No. 1 title with the 1997 hit “Si Tu Supieras.” The song spent six weeks atop the Hot Latin Songs chart and is one of eight leaders for the singer on the weekly chart.

With four titles each on the list, Juan Gabriel and Selena are tied with the most songs in the top 25. Gabriel’s “Abrazame Muy Fuerte” earns the No. 2 spot and spent nine weeks atop the Hot Latin Songs chart in 2001.

Selena’s top song “No Me Queda Mas” is the fourth-biggest song by a Mexican act. The track spent seven week at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart beginning in 1994.
