Nicki Minaj's 'No Frauds,' 'Changed It' & 'Regret in Your Tears' Arrive on the Charts
Following the release of three new Nicki Minaj songs on March 10 -- “No Frauds,” featuring Drake and Lil Wayne; “Changed It,” featuring Lil Wayne; and “Regret in Your Tears” -- each track finds footing on Billboard’s charts with only a few days of tracking data powering their debuts.
“No Frauds” has the strongest start at radio, debuting at No. 34 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay (5.7 million audience impressions in the tracking week ending March 12, according to Nielsen Music), with only three days of radio play counting toward its rank. The debut marks Nicki’s 55th career hit at the format, Drake’s 92nd, and Lil Wayne's 123rd. Lil Wayne extends his record for the most chart hits, followed by Jay Z (with 113), R. Kelly (99) and Drake.
The standout track is, in part, a response to Remy Ma’s “Shether,” a seven-minute long diss track aimed at Minaj that was released Feb. 24. While featured guests Drake and Lil Wayne stay out of the beef, Nicki’s verse hits back at Remy with lines like “What type of bum bitch shoot a friend over a rack?/ What type of mother leave her one son over a stack?,” referring to Remy Ma’s six-year prison term for a 2008 shooting.
Minaj’s other two songs have yet to bow on any airplay charts. That said, the pop track “Regret in Your Tears” is off to a faster airplay start than “Changed It.” The former garnered 190 plays in its first three days across all monitored stations, as compared to the 23 spins earned by “Changed It.”
All three new tracks debut on the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart: “No Frauds” lands at No. 4, “Regret in Your Tears” at No. 14, and “Changed It” bows at No. 27. The chart is a weekly ranking of the most shared and/or mentioned songs on Twitter in the U.S., ranked by the volume of shares over a seven-day period (Monday to Sunday). The three debuts push her to 37 entries on the Top Tracks chart, breaking her out of a tie with One Direction for the third-most hits since the chart began in 2014. Drake, with 55 appearances, leads all acts.
Any activity from sales and streaming of the new tracks will reflect on the April 1-dated charts, following the songs’ first full Friday to Thursday tracking cycle. The charts will be published on Billboard.com on March 20.
