She may not have been nominated for an award, but Beyoncé stole the show at the 2016 CMA Awards in Nashville with her performance of “Daddy Lessons” alongside the Dixie Chicks.

The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart at 11 a.m. ET Wednesday (Nov. 2) after rumors circulated on social media that she would be performing the song live with the Dixie Chicks. “Daddy Lessons” held the top spot for about nine hours -- and reigned after she performed the track onstage. (It was No. 1 through the day, except for an hour early on in the CMA Awards broadcast, when Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man” topped the list, following its CMA Award win for single of the year.)

The Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart measures the real-time acceleration of conversation around artists and their music on Twitter.

Though Beyonce typically dominates the pop and R&B charts, “Daddy Lessons” received praise for its country-and-folk-sounding instrumentals. The Dixie Chicks -- consisting of Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire -- covered the song throughout its recently concluded DCX MMXVI tour. During the CMA Awards performance, a brief moment of the Chicks’ 2002 No. 2 Hot Country Songs hit “Long Time Gone” was woven into “Daddy Lessons.”

“Daddy Lessons” was featured on Beyonce’s latest album Lemonade, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated May 14.

Shortly after their performance, the Dixie Chicks tweeted a studio recording of “Daddy Lessons,” available for free on SoundCloud now.
