The sister act reigns in its first visit to the ranking.

Joseph, the Portland-based folk-rock trio of sisters Natalie, Allison and Meegan Closner, climbs 3-1 on Billboard's Adult Alternative Songs radio airplay chart (dated Oct. 15), with its first entry, "White Flag." The single is from the group's second studio album, I'm Alone, No You're Not, which debuted at No. 1 on the Sept. 17 Heatseekers Albums chart (and held atop the Sept. 24 tally).

Joseph is the third in 2016 to reign in a first visit to Adult Alternative Songs, following veteran singer-songwriter Kurt Vile ("Pretty Pimpin," March 12) and The Record Company ("Off the Ground," two weeks in June).

"It occurred to me as the most natural thing to do to just text Meegan and Allie and be like, 'Hey, you wanna be in a band with me?'," Natalie mused on Billboard's Soul Sisters Podcast earlier this month about the group's formation. The trio also performs in-studio during the podcast; listen in full here.
