Thanks to "Like I Would," Zayn has now led the chart with One Direction & as a soloist.

Zayn zips to the top of Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart (dated Sept. 3) with his first solo entry on the chart, "Like I Would" (2-1).

With One Direction until his 2015 departure, Zayn Malik previously topped Dance Club Songs with the boy band's breakthrough hit "What Makes You Beautiful" in 2012. Later that year, the act added a second top 10, the No. 6-peaking "Live While We're Young."

Remixes of "Would" from The White Panda, Troyboi and Oliver Nelson, among others, aided Zayn's coronation.

Zayn joins a list of singers who have topped Dance Club Songs both with a group and on their own. Most recently, fellow former boy bander Nathan Sykes reigned with "Over and Over Again" (featuring Ariana Grande; Feb. 27). As a member of The Wanted, he led with "I Found You" in 2013.

Meanwhile, as a soloist, Beyonce is the artist with the third-most No. 1s in the chart's nearly 40-year history, 22 (trailing only Madonna's 46 and Rihanna's 27). She has also earned four as part of Destiny's Child, which led for the first time since 2005, when "The Girl Is Mine" (by 99 Souls featuring Destiny's Child and Brandy) crowned the March 5 list.
