Plus, Mike Will Made It & Rihanna single arrives and Juicy J & Wiz Khalifa’s collaborative album debuts

DJ Khaled scores his best debut across multiple Billboard charts as “For Free,” featuring Drake, bows in the top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. (Khaled had been teasing a song with Drake for weeks through his popular Snapchat account, saying things like “did the Drake vocals come in yet?” and responding to curious fans with “it’s top secret.”)

The track premiered on June 3, via Apple’s Beats1 Radio, and bows at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 (chart dated June 25). Its arrival marks Drake’s 124th Hot 100 hit, while Khaled earns his 16th (and his highest entry). Over on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, “For Free” bows at No. 6 (Khaled’s first top 10 entrance and Drake’s eighth). The entries are powered in part by 105,000 downloads sold in the week ending June 9, according to Nielsen Music. The track is exclusively available as a stream through Apple Music’s streaming service, and on sale via the iTunes Store.

The Apple exclusive also soundtracks a new advertisement for the music service, which came out on June 5 and stars Khaled and supermodel Naomi Campbell.

At radio, “For Free” has a strong start, entering the Rap Airplay chart at No. 9, notching Khaled his eighth top 10. He most recently charted with “How Many Times,” featuring Chris Brown, Lil Wayne & Big Sean, which reached No. 7 on the August 15, 2015 chart. For Drake, the debut marks his 43rd top 10 hit.

“For Free” is the first single from Khaled’s Major Key album, due later this year.

Mike Will Made-It & Rihanna Arrive: The second best entrance on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs goes to Mike Will Made-It and Rihanna with “Nothing Is Promised,” bowing at No. 26. 28,000 downloads of the song contribute to its debut, while streaming reached 3.1 million U.S. weekly plays (week ending June 12). Of the total clicks, 28 percent stem from Spotify.

Over on the four-year-old Hot R&B Songs chart, “Nothing is Promised” earns a top 10 arrival, coming in at No. 9, giving Rihanna her 9th top 10, while Mike Will Made-It scores his first charting song on the chart.

First teased last July on the producer’s Instagram, the partnered track is the first single from Mike Will Made-It’s forthcoming album, Ransom 2, set to be released this year.

‘TGOD Mafia’ Moves In: Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa arrive at No. 3 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums with their joint mixtape, TGOD Mafia: Rude Awakening, with 10,000 copies sold in the tracking week.

TGOD, produced by TM88, marks Juicy J’s fourth charting set on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, while Juicy J notches his tenth. The album bows at No. 26 on the overall Billboard 200 chart, with 15,000 equivalent album units earned.
