Hot 100 Chart Moves: P!nk's 'Just Like Fire' Ignites, Marking Her First Hit Since 2013
Her new soundtrack single starts with strong sales & surges at radio. Plus, moves for Zayn, Prince, Nick Jonas, Tove Lo & Grace.
As previously reported, Desiigner's debut hit "Panda" pounces to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated May 7). The Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, New York, rapper halts the nine-week reign of Rihanna's "Work," featuring Drake, and brings an American act to No. 1 on the Hot 100 after a record 41-week streak of leaders by foreign artists. Plus, Drake vaults to the Hot 100's top five with "One Dance."
That's not all the "panda"-monium on this week's Hot 100.
As reported Monday, the former Hot 100 No. 1 (now at No. 8) crowns the Pop Songs radio airplay chart. After some further historical chart-checking, this fun fact: as the song is his debut single following his departure from One Direction, Zayn is the first former boy band member to lead Pop Songs with a debut entry since back in 1999, when Ricky Martin, following his run in Menudo, arrived with the seven-week Pop Songs No. 1 "Livin' La Vida Loca."
Meanwhile, RCA Records has confirmed that "Like I Would" is Zayn's next single from his debut solo album, Mind of Mine. It goes to pop radio May 16.
Prince and the Revolution, "Purple Rain"
As previously reported, six Prince classics re-enter the Hot 100 following his passing April 21 (as older songs are allowed to return to the chart if registering notable renewed activity and ranking in the list's upper half). The returning titles are led by "Purple Rain" (No. 17), the top-selling song of the week, as it re-enters the Digital Songs sales chart at No. 1 with 122,000 sold, up 7,576 week from 2,000 sold the week before, according to Nielsen Music.

P!nk, "Just Like Fire"
New at No. 42, P!nk makes her first Hot 100 appearance since 2013 with her track from Alice Through the Looking Glass, in theaters in North America May 27. It bows with 60,000 sold, also spurring its No. 1 debut on the Kid Digital Songs chart. Radio is additionally interested, as the track blasts 27-14 on Adult Pop Songs and 38-27 on Pop Songs and begins at No. 27 on Adult Contemporary.
Grace Featuring G-Eazy, "You Don't Own Me"
Debuting at No. 95, the song updates Lesley Gore's No. 2 Hot 100 hit from 1964. After Quincy Jones produced the original, the legendary mogul, now 83, returned to co-produce Grace's remake.
