"Trust" crowns Hot Christian Songs powered by its concurrent climb to No. 1 on Christian Digital Songs (2-1; 10,000 downloads sold in the week ending March 10, according to Nielsen Music), marking her second leader on the list; aptly, "First" was her first. "Trust" holds at its No. 4 high on Christian Airplay (9 million in audience and lifts 7-6 on Christian Streaming Songs (704,000 U.S. streams, up 10 percent).
"Trust" is the third top five on Hot Christian Songs from Daigle's launch LP, following the title track and "First," which peaked at Nos. 5 and 2, respectively. The set holds at No. 3 on Top Christian Albums (8,000, up 11 percent) and has sold 264,000 to date.
HERE'S JONNY: Also On Hot Christian Songs, Jonny Diaz's "Breathe" pushes 11-10, becoming his second top 10. "More Beautiful You" rose to No. 2 in 2009.
EXTRA, EXTRA: Christian pop/rock band Newsboys bounds onto Top Christian Albums at No. 2 with Love Riot, which sold 27,000 copies in its release week. On the all-genre Billboard 200, the set starts at No. 14, the group's best rank since 2010's Born Again (No. 4). Love Riot also roars onto Top Rock Albums at No. 1.
The album's lead single "Guilty," which reached No. 12 on Hot Christian Songs, will be featured in the film God's Not Dead 2, opening April 1. It stars, among others, Melissa Joan Hart, Jesse Metcalfe and David A.R. White.
CHAPMAN RETURNS: Additionally on Top Christian Albums, genre cornerstone Steven Curtis Chapman begins at No. 4 with Worship and Believe (7,000 sold), his first worship album.
The set starts as Chapman's 20th top 10 on the survey, dating to his first, the No. 2-peaking More to This Life, in 1990. In that span, he ranks in fifth place for the most top 10s; Bill & Gloria Gaither lead with 46, twice as many as runner-up Michael W. Smith (23), while Amy Grant and Hillsong have each collected 21 in that stretch.
WALKER TOP 10: Hezekiah Walker's "Better" vaults onto Hot Gospel Songs at No. 9, his highest career debut, fueled by its 2,000 first-week downloads sold; it enters Gospel Digital Songs at No. 3. "Better" is Walker's sixth Hot Gospel Songs top 10 and first since his 26-week No. 1 "Every Praise" in 2013-14.
'ALIVE' & KICKING: Finally, on Christian Airplay, Irish band We Are Messengers hits the top 10 (11-10) with "Everything Comes Alive." The song is from the act's eponymous effort, which has reached No. 29 on Top Christian Albums.
