The rock icon leads the list for a third time, partnered with French star Mylene Farmer.

Sting celebrates his third leader on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart as "Stolen Car," with French star Mylene Farmer, motors 2-1 (on the list dated Feb. 20).

"I'm absolutely thrilled and surprised," Sting tells Billboard. "It's so great to be No. 1, especially on the Dance Club Songs chart. Wow!"

An earlier version of the song was Sting's second No. 1, as "Stolen Car (Take Me Dancing)," featuring Twista, topped the chart in 2004. (He first led with "Send Your Love" in 2003.)

"Car" was remodeled for Farmer’s French-pop album Interstellaires, which reached No. 9 on Billboard's World Albums chart in November. The track marks Farmer's first foray onto Dance Club Songs. She says, "Working with Sting was already such a gift, but to get the love and support of the DJ and dance community in the U.S. is amazing. Merci!"

DJ Dave Aude, who remixed both the 2004 and new versions of "Car," adds, "Remixing 'Stolen Car' in 2004 was epic, but hitting the top of the chart again 12 years later is crazy. It doesn't get cooler than Sting, but adding in the ultra-chic Mylene Farmer to the mix was the perfect addition for the update."

Additionally, remixes from Ralphi Rosario, Mico C and My Digital Enemy, among others, helped drive "Car" to the summit.
