Sam Smith’s theme for the upcoming James Bond film is on target for the U.K. No. 1, a feat no other song from the long-running spy franchise has managed to-date.

The British soul singer’s "Writing's On The Wall" (Capitol) is way out in front on the Top 100 Official Singles Chart Update, with more than double the combined sales of the next-best single, Justin Bieber’s "What Do You Mean" (Def Jam), according to the Official U.K. Charts Company.

None of the previous 23 Bond themes have reached the summit of the Official U.K. Singles Chart. Though some have come close. Adele’s "Skyfall" from 2012 and Duran Duran’s "A View To a Kill" from 1985 both peaked at No. 2. "A View to a Kill" went one better in the United States when it hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in July 1985.

Smith's latest song will feature in the film Spectre, which will be released Oct. 26 in the U.K. and Nov. 6 in the U.S.
