After Selena Gomez shared the nearly nude cover of her new album, Revival, on Sept. 8, the singer soars 8-3 on the Social 50 chart (dated Sept. 26).

The Social 50 is powered by data tracked by music analytics company Next Big Sound and ranks the most popular artists on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Wikipedia, Instagram, Tumblr and Vine. The chart's methodology blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with artist page views and engagement.

Gomez posted the album cover on Instagram, where it has collected over 1.8 million likes and 86,000 comments through Sept. 15. Over the tracking week ending Sept. 13, Gomez totaled over 11 million total likes and comments on Instagram and added over 505,000 followers on the platform, pushing her to her highest rank on the Social 50 in fourth months (May 23, also at No. 3).

In an interview with KPWR Los Angeles (Power 106), Gomez responded to criticism of the image and talked about its inspiration. “It looks like a Linda Ronstadt photo,” she said. “It’s a ‘70s photo. I’m wearing high-waisted shorts that are obviously cut off.” She also tweeted a side-by-side comparison of her cover with a black and white photo of Jennifer Aniston in a similar pose, adding “#myidol.” On Twitter, Gomez also sees a 403 percent increase in reactions, up 319,000.

Also during the tracking week, she released the track list of the new album and the new song “Same Old Love.” The cut debuts at No. 2 on Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart.

Further down the list, Bring Me The Horizon re-enters at No. 38, the British rock band’s first visit to the tally since 2011, when it logged its peak position (No. 37.)  The band has been counting down the days on social media leading up to the release of its fifth studio album, That’s The Spirit, on Sept. 11, resulting in a 342 percent increase in Twitter mentions (adding 135,000 mentions) as well as adding 633,000 Instagram hearts and comments -- a 32 percent increase. The group also premiered album track “Avalanche” on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show on Sept. 8.

The only debut on the list is Italian rapper and vocalist Fedez at No. 48. Fedez sees the most increase in his social action on Instagram, where he adds 566,000 likes and comments and 24,000 followers on the platform, where he now totals 1.1 million followers, after he posted several photos from a visit to an island in the Seychelles. Fedez had a featured verse on an Italian release of Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time” in May and has announced a deluxe re-release of his latest album Pop-Hoolista, originally released September 2014.
