Muse notches its third No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs airplay chart with "Dead Inside." The British band previously led with "Uprising" for 17 weeks in 2009, and "Madness" (19 weeks, 2012). The former earned the honor of the top title of the chart's first 25 years, as compiled by Billboard in 2013, while the latter holds the record for longest run at No. 1."Dead" also leaps 4-1 on Rock Airplay (10 million in audience, up 10 percent, according to Nielsen Music), marking Muse's second leader ("Madness" ruled for 12 weeks).
"Dead" previews the Matt Bellamy-led group's seventh studio album, Drones, co-produced by Mutt Lange (due June 9). The band's previous release, The 2nd Law, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, becoming its highest-charting set.
