Mumford & Sons Return With 'Wilder Mind': Third Album Due in May

The new track, which previews the band's upcoming Wilder Mind album (due May 4), also starts No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100, the group's second-highest debut on that chart. Only "I Will Wait" started higher, when it launched at No. 23 in 2012, on its way to a No. 12 peak the following year. "I Will Wait" is also the group's only No. 1 on Hot Rock Songs, leading the list for one week in October 2012.

"Believe," which features a new sound for the act (a little less banjo, a little more synth and electric guitar) also leads Rock Digital Songs with 13,000 U.S. downloads sold in the week ending March 15, according to Nielsen Music. It also starts with over 2 million streams, 80 percent of which are plays from Spotify.

The track also has a strong start on the airwaves, where the band's cross-rock genre appeal lends to its debut at No. 5 on both Alternative Songs and Adult Alternative Songs. It's the group's highest bow on the lists. ("I Will Wait" was the group's previous highest debut on both tallies: No. 12 on Alternative and No. 9 on Adult Alternative. It later reached No. 1 on both charts.)
