Greatest Gainer No. 20 "Thinking Out Loud" Ed Sheeran

Debut No. 38 "What I Like About You" 5 Seconds Of Summer
While Taylor Swift (at No. 1 with "Blank Space") mines the end of the '80s for inspiration, via her album 1989, 5 Seconds of Summer go back to the early part of the decade with their remake of the Romantics' "What I Like About You," which debuts on Pop Songs at No. 38. Prior to the chart's 1992 launch, the Romantics' original reached No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1980, while Michael Morales' remake in 1989 (of course) rose to No. 28. (The last '80s remake until this week to hit Pop Songs [i.e., a full interpretation; not merely a sample]? Seether's rock makeover of Wham!'s 1985 Hot 100 No. 1 ballad "Careless Whisper." Seether's cover reached No. 36 on Pop Songs in 2009.)
