Romeo Santos and Marc Anthony Collect 10th No. 1s: Meanwhile on Latin Airplay, Romeo Santos leaps 7-1 with "Yo Tambien," featuring Marc Anthony, to tally his 10th chart-topping title (also giving Anthony his 10th No. 1). This latest single from both tropical titans rises 18 percent in audience, to 9.9 million impressions, according to Nielsen Music.
Santos and Anthony are now in the four-way tie for the fourth most No. 1s on the Latin Airplay chart. Marco Antonio Solis and Wisin & Yandel also have 10. Ahead of them are Gloria Estefan (with 11), Ricky Martin (13) and Enrique Iglesias (26).
"Yo Tambien" is Santos' fifth No. 1 from his sophomore solo set Formula, Vol. 2 which was released on Feb. 25. The track continues at No. 10 for a second week on Hot Latin Songs (its peak), following a 25-week climb to the top 10. The song initially charted as an album cut, as it wasn't officially promoted as a single in recently weeks.
Voz de Mando Rises to No. 1: Regional Mexican Airplay receives a new No. 1 as Voz de Mando jumps 4-1 with "Levantando Polvadera," as their new album of the same name concurrently debuts at No. 6 on Top Latin Albums (2,000 copies). The single becomes the second chart-topper for the group, following their massively popular single "Y Ahora Resulta," which crowned the list for seven consecutive weeks in 2013.
The track saw a 22 percent spike in the tracking week ending Dec. 14, rising to 9.4 million audience impressions. The arrival of the set, Levantando Polvadera, marks the sixth top 10 for the groups on the album list.
Manuelle Makes It Five: Marking a Tropical Airplay achievement, Victor Manuelle spends a fifth consecutive week at No. 1 with "Que Suenen Los Tambores" (up 5 percent in spins), tying for the most crowning weeks in 2014. Manuelle ties Marc Anthony's "Cambio de Piel," which spent five non-consecutive weeks atop the chart (with its first week at No. 1 on Jan. 25).
