Ricky Martin's 'Adios' says hello to a high entry on Hot Latin Songs.
The track, released Sept. 23 to digital retailers, sold more than 6,000 downloads in its first week, simultaneously arriving at No. 2 on Latin Digital Songs. "Adios," produced by Martin along with Jesse Shatkin, Yotuel Romero and Antonio Rayo Gibo, is the first official single from Martin's forthcoming album, due early 2015.
On the Latin Airplay chart, the single comes in at No. 23, his best entrance as a lead act in 11 years, since "Jaleo" debuted at No. 22 in 2003. Martin later scored a No. 8 debut in March 2014 as a featured act on Wisin's "Adrenalina," also featuring Jennifer Lopez. "Adios" boasts three different versions: the original Spanish-language single, along with English and English/French adaptations.
