The death of screen legend Lauren Bacall on Aug. 12 stirred a big sales gain for an obscure song this past week, as Bertie Higgins' "Key Largo" earned a 625 percent increase in download sales.

In the week ending Aug. 17, the song -- which includes the lyric "just like Bogie and Bacall" -- sold nearly 3,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That was up tremendously from the nearly negligible figure it racked up the previous week.

Higgins took the single to No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 on April 17, 1982, and No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

Another song that famously referenced Bacall, Madonna's "Vogue," saw a sales gain as well. It sold about 1,000 downloads in the week ending Aug. 17 -- up by 28 percent.
