"(It) kicked 'The Reflex' into the stratosphere…," Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon told Billboard in 2011 of the remix.
"It was the first time that people (had) really heard things like that 'flex-flex-flex-flex-flex,'" Le Bon continued, "you know, that kind of sampling and the way he did it. He did a magnificent job of it. I remember getting it back and hearing it for the first time and it just blew my barn doors off."
"The Reflex" is one of two chart-toppers for the British band, who also led the list in 1985 with "A View to a Kill." Duran Duran has logged a total of 21 hits on the Hot 100, which helped make them -- as of 2013 -- the fifth most-successful British group in Hot 100 history (following the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney/Wings and Bee Gees).
