Billboard + Twitter Realtime Charts: Emerging Picks of the Week

Every day, every hour, every minute, the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart surfaces the most shared tracks on Twitter from up-and-coming acts. The most talked about of these acts wind up in the weekly summary of this chart, which can be found in print in Billboard magazine and online at

We've gone through the first weekly chart and hand-picked our favorite new tracks and music videos that made an impact on the Twitter sphere during the tracking week ending June 1.

What is an emerging artist, exactly? They are defined as those who have fewer than 50,000 Twitter followers and have not appeared as a lead artist in the top 50 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.

MYKKI BLANCO "She Gutta" | Michael Quattlebaum Jr., better known as Mykki Blanco (a name inspired by Lil Kim's alter ego, Kimmy Blanco) dropped his newest mixtape "Spring/Summer 2014" on iTunes on May 28 and along with it, a new video for its lead single "She Gutta." The 5:53 cut is a mini-narrative epic, featuring a nearly two-minute long violent drug-laden dystopian introduction that sets the mood. "She Gutta" comes in at No. 25 for the week.

TROY AVE "My Grind" | The success of New York-based rapper Troy Ave's 2013 debut album "New York City: The Album" was enough to land him on XXL's coveted Freshmen list for 2014. On May 23, he dropped a creative music video for "My Grind" that generated enough buzz to cause the title to come in at No. 20.

WOLF ALICE "Moaning Lisa Smile" | British alt-rock quartet Wolf Alice dropped their newest EP "Creature Songs" on May 26 and along with it a music video for the track "Moaning Lisa Smile," which bundles song and dance and an inspirational video. The track comes in at No. 19 on the chart for the week.

SWOLLEN MEMBERS "Power" | Swollen Members, a hip-hop collective from Vancouver, ready the June 17 release of their newest album Brand New Day with the arrival the official music video for the album's song "Power." The black and white clip helps the title achieve the No. 48 spot on the chart.

CROWBAR "Walk With Knowledge Wisely" | New Orleans-based metal veterans Crowbar put frontman Kirk Windstein's glorious beard on display for all in their new video for "Walk With Knowledge Wisely," a slow-driving cut from their album "Symmetry In Black." The video causes the track to come in at No. 34 for the week.
