Lady Gaga's 'G.U.Y.' Video Prompts Social 50 Chart Re-Entry

Two former collaborators make big moves on the Social 50 chart, as both Lady Gaga and Beyonce shake up the tally.

Lady Gaga re-enters the tally at No. 26 in the wake of the debut of her music video "G.U.Y." on March 22.

With the debut comes an 86% increase in weekly views for Gaga on the Vevo platform (16 million for the week ending March 23, total).

She also tallied an 87% rise in mentions on Twitter, and an 84% gain in conversation on Facebook.

The Social 50 ranks the most popular artists on YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, SoundCloud, Wikipedia, Myspace and Instagram. The chart's methodology blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with artist page views, song plays and reactions as measured by music analytics company Next Big Sound.
Beyonce moves 11-6 thanks to her activity on Instagram, where pictures of her travels posted during the charting week caused a 80% gain in followers for the week.

On her personal (non-Vevo) YouTube page, she started posting behind-the-scenes footage from her concert tour, which helped lead to the addition of more than 775,000 new followers on the platform.

As for the rest of the top 10, Justin Bieber remains at No. 1 while Shakira stays at No. 2 despite a 25% rise in overall score in the week. Miley Cyrus stays at No. 3 as Taylor Swift rises 6-4. Katy Perry dips 4-5, Eminem rises 9-7 and Selena Gomez holds at No. 8. Pitbull and Bruno Mars both return to the top 10, climbing 15-9 and 16-10, respectively.
