Suzanne Vega's Five Favorite Songs
The renowned singer/songwriter picks her top five favorites from her catalog
At Billboard, we like to think we know a little bit (and hopefully a lot more) about how to create a songs chart.
But, artists themselves have a unique insight into which songs of theirs deserve the highest praise.
With that in mind, Chart Beat's series of artists making their own charts continues.
Check out the video above, as Suzanne Vega counts down her five favorite songs of hers from a catalog dating to her 1985 self-titled debut album.
Vega recently stopped by Billboard's New York studios to perform three songs from her new album, "Tales From the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles." She also discussed the set's buzzed-about track "Don't Uncork What You Can't Contain," which includes a 50 Cent sample and even a Macklemore shout-out. "The roots of our music are way more similar than you'd ever imagine," Vega said. "I think that there's an honesty to rap and folk music [lyrically], a kind of outsider status."
And now, on with the countdown ...
