"It Will Rain," from the "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1" soundtrack, led the week of Feb. 4, 2012, while "Locked Out of Heaven" (five weeks, 2012-13) preceded "Man" from Mars' second album, and first Billboard 200 No. 1, "Unorthodox Jukebox."
Also notable: "Man" is the first piano-and-vocal-only No. 1 in the Pop Songs chart's history. Previously, Adele's "Someone Like You" (No. 2, 2011) had come closest to commanding the chart; still, "Someone" is the only such No. 1 in the Billboard Hot 100's 54-year archives.
TIMBERLAKE'S TOPS: After Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience " roared onto the Billboard 200 last week with 968,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, lead single "Suit & Tie," featuring Jay-Z, crowns the Rhythmic airplay chart (2-1). It's his first No. 1 on the ranking as a lead artist and second overall, following his featured role on T.I.'s "Dead and Gone" (four weeks at No. 1, 2009).
(Timberlake trivia: While impressive, his almost seven-year gap between Billboard 200-topping studio albums ("FutureSex/LoveSounds" led in 2006) isn't a record. The Eagles' "The Long Run," their last studio set prior to their early '80s hiatus, began a nine-week reign on Nov. 3, 1979. Twenty-eight years and two weeks later, "Long Road Out of Eden," their next album of all-new studio material, flew to a No. 1 start the week of Nov. 17, 2007).
"Suit," which holds at its No. 4 peak to date on Pop Songs, also becomes Timberlake's first top 10 on Adult Pop Songs (12-10). It's just the second Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs top 10 to reach the Adult Pop Songs top 10 single since Alicia Keys' "No One" five years ago. Keys' "Girl on Fire" reached No. 2 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in December and No. 10 on Adult Pop Songs last month. "Suit" has spent five weeks at No. 2 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
Timberlake's new single "Mirrors," meanwhile, blasts onto Pop Songs at No. 26.
All charts will be refreshed Thursday (April 4) on Billboard.com and Billboard.com/biz.
