When asked to make an iconic birthday cake for Elton John, there seriously are only two props that come to mind. Elton's cake was made at Bredenbeck's Bakery on March 25 in Philadelphia.

Billboard's super-talented musical chart fan Alfie Magliano returns with his latest chart mash-up!

What's better than perusing a list of the Billboard Hot 100's top 40 songs? Listening to the Hot 100's top 40 songs.

But, what's even better than that? Performing them yourself!

New York-based Chart Beat reader Alfie Magliano is back with his latest piano interpretation of the Hot 100's top 40 hits for the chart week ending May 5. "I played the entire top 40 on piano, in order (from No. 1 to No. 40), from memory," Magliano says. "The arrangements are my own."

Magliano's latest unique journey through the chart's top 40 titles ( his last, eight months ago, has racked more than 115,000 YouTube views; "All the songs in the top 40 finally cycled through, so I made a new video last night!," Magliano says) helps prove that a memorable melody - one that can be performed simply as a piano instrumental - is what, ultimately, makes a pop hit. (And, who knew that Gym Class Heroes' "Ass Back Home" could sound so pretty?)

Another chart-worthy performance itself, Alfie!
