Event tech company Eventnoire has announced the addition of music and entertainment mogul John Monopoly to its advisory board. Monopoly is best known for discovering and managing Kanye West, as well as designers Virgil Abloh and Don C, who calls Monopoly "a cultural genius."

Monopoly has worked in the music industry since he started promoting shows in Chicago at 13 years-old. In the years since, he has held multiple positions at Violator and Jive Records and been on the management teams of artists such as Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliott.

"Their management and back of the house is comprised of some highly educated entrepreneurs from my hometown of Chicago. I'm always looking to align myself with the next greats out of the city from an executive talent standpoint and an artist talent standpoint," says Monopoly. He adds, "I think I bring a lot of connectivity from not just artist relationships, but with executives and promoters and event planners all over the world."

The industry veteran will join the Eventnoire team as head of entertainment and seeks leverage his knowledge and expertise to ignite growth and partnerships in the music and entertainment industry.

"John is a proven leader and innovator who got his start out in events and his experience and relationships within the entertainment industry are going to be pivotal to our growth," said Eventnoire co-founder Jeff Osuji in a statement.

The platform offers software solutions to event planners for online event registration, venue selection, event management, mobile apps for events, and e-mail marketing. Eventnoire was founded by veteran event promoters Osuji and Femi Masha to provide spaces and events highlighting Black culture. Monopoly calls the company founded by the Black entrepreneurs, "a for us, by us type of thing."

"John Monopoly has been an instrumental figure and has had global impact in the music and culture spaces working with talents such as myself from early stages of my journey," said Abloh in a statement. "Without a doubt his future endeavors show tremendous promise."

According to Monopoly, Eventnoire's core focuses in the ticketing market are Black promoters who have responded well to the alternative to Ticketmaster or Eventbrite.

"Especially with the kind of relationships that we have and the kind of board that we have and the team that we have of great entrepreneurs, it's been nothing but great response thus far," says Monopoly. "I'm really looking forward to what the future holds."

Eventnoire is planning virtual initiatives for the end of the year, including the launch of their winter concert series. For more information on Eventnoire, head here.
