The exits follow Alex Cordova's mysterious resignation at the Wynn last week.

One week after officials with the Palms hotel in Las Vegas canceled Marshmello's $60 million residency at the KAOS nightclub, the hotel's vp and GM Jon Gray resigned from his position.

Gray, a former Nike employee and husband to 2013 Mrs. Nevada America winner Ruth Gray, is the fifth high-profile executive to leave the hotel in the last 10 months. Officials with the Palms confirmed Wednesday (Oct. 2) that Gray had left his post at the hotel and casino, although one inside source says Gray’s exit is not connected to Marshmello’s short-lived residency.

Other recent exits include the Aug. 19 departure of former Palms senior vp creative strategy Ronn Nicolli and the Aug. 8 exit of Ryan Craig, the hotel's senior vp nightlife, daylife and events. In November, Cy and Jesse Waits, identical twins who served as co-managing directors of social experience at the hotel, left the company.

Also out this month is the Wynn’s longtime executive vp nightlife Alex Cordova, who announced his resignation on Instagram Sept. 26. Prior to moving to the Palms last year, Nicolli and Craig had worked with Cordova at the Wynn where they helped architect Marshmello’s residency at Wynn’s nightclub XS.

A rep for the Palms tells Billboard the recent split with Gray was amicable, saying the former Linq executive recently oversaw the completion of the third and final phase of the Palms $690 million redevelopment project and noted that Gray “has elected to move on to the next chapter of his career."

On Instagram, Gray wrote that he had been at the hotel for more than two-and-a-half years, working to "completely transform the Palms into a must-see destination with an incredible mix of partners and classic Vegas hospitality."

"With the opening of Tim Ho Wan, the transformation of the Palms is now complete," he added, noting "it is time for me to move on to my next challenge."

Last week, Marshmello was reportedly released from his $60 million, two-year contract at the KAOS. Marshmello was only halfway through his contract, but a source familiar with the agreement said executives at the Palms had concluded several weeks ago that it was unlikely to recover the huge guarantee it had paid to the EDM artist, who Forbes identified as the second highest-paid dance artist in 2019 behind the Chainsmokers

There are currently no artists booked at KAOS until Oct. 31 when Cardi B opens the hotel’s KAOS Dome, Las Vegas’ huge climate controlled, fully enclosed dayclub/nightclub and resort pool.

Marshmello’s manager Moe Shalizi did not respond to a request for comment.
