Concert discovery platform Bandsintown has updated its artist portal with new features and key improvements in order to better help touring artists evolve their careers, the company announced Wednesday (Sept. 18). Now called Bandsintown for Artists, the platform is now available for Bandsintown’s 510,000 registered artists.

"Bandsintown is aggressively expanding its free offering to artists,” said Bandsintown managing partner Fabrice Sergent in a statement. “We continue to contribute value to artists and help them better engage with their super fans, grow their careers and stand out in an ever-crowded world.”

Among the updates is an expanded direct-to-fan messaging tool that features new posting capabilities, including geo-targeted messaging, which allows artists to target their fans by specific city or region. In addition, artists are now able to schedule posts ahead of time on Bandsintown and sync those posts with Facebook and Twitter -- with all data collected to be shared for free with artists on the Bandsintown for Artists analytics platform.

Additional new features include a new “daily flow” of helpful tips, best practices and music industry news from Hypebot -- the editorial outlet recently acquired by the company -- as well as an expanded Bandsintown for Artists blog. The platform also offers a curated artists services section offering discounts and special officers from Bandzoogle, Tunecore, DiscMakers, Feature.fm and more.
