MSNBC Host Chris Hayes Taking 'Why Is This Happening' Podcast on the Road

Emmy Award-winning news host Chris Hayes will take his Why Is This Happening? podcast on tour this fall. The host of MSNBC’s All In With Chris Hayes will stop at four arenas across the country to interview nation-wide newsmakers.

Hayes will perform in Austin in September before hitting Los Angeles in October, Chicago in November and New York in December.

On Sept. 28, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) will join Hayes for a live, one-on-one interview at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin. After that, Hayes will travel to Los Angeles on Oct. 21 for a conversation with Academy Award-winning writer and director Adam McKay and author Omar El Akkad.

Additional information such as special guests, dates and venues for the will be announced soon.   

Hayes and his MSNBC team, along with the editors at NBC News THINK, launched Why Is This Happening? in May 2018. Since then, it has remained a top 100 podcast based on iTunes charts.

In November 2018, Why Is This Happening? presented its first live podcast event with special guest Ta-Nehisi Coates at Congregation Beth Elohim in Brooklyn. Hayes also sat down with Stacey Abrams to a sold-out Gramercy Theater in New York City in February 2019.
