The free, family-friendly event takes place over two weekends in L.A.'s iconic beach town.

The free 2019 Hermosa Beach Summer Series is expanding to two weekends this year, taking over one of Southern California's most iconic coastal towns with four days of music, comedy and movies on the beach.

Presented over two weekends by KROQ and organized by 5B Artists + Media, with support from Hermosa Beach Friends of the Parks and Heal the Bay, the family-friendly event opens Aug. 17 with Atlas Genius, the Australian alternative rock outfit behind the radio hit "Trojans," which hit No. 3 on the Billboard Alternative chart in 2013.

Aug. 18 features an exclusive one-time reunion show by L.A. rockers Iglu & Hartly, with frontman Jarvis Anderson telling Billboard in a statement, "We really still can’t believe we will be coming back together to reunite in our old stomping grounds. Hermosa Beach was always a place of love and support for Iglu & Hartly and we considered it a second home."

L.A. band The White Buffalo, led by musician and singer/songwriter Jake Smith, will headline Aug. 24, while Mariachi El Bronx -- the alter ego of indie rock band The Bronx -- close out Hermosa Beach Summer Series on Aug. 25.

Mariachi El Bronx vocalist Matt Caughthran tells Billboard in a statement that the band is "looking forward to celebrating the sacred California coastline with music, friends, family, and maybe just a couple of drinks," while Hermosa Beach mayor Stacey Armato "encourages everyone to come and enjoy great music" and Cory Brennan with 5B Artists + Media, who produces the series, says, "I am looking forward to celebrating the city of Hermosa, its community, and its culture with all of you in August."

Also making appearances this year are actor and comedian Jamie Kennedy, L.A. indie rockers The Wrecks, alternative locals Kitten, and Orange County's Your Favorite Color on Aug, 17, Ohio pop rock trio The Orphan The Poet and L.A. rock band the Jacks on Aug. 18. Plus, look out for comedian Steve Byrne and alternative surf group Pounded By The Surf and L.A.'s Trapdoor Social on Aug. 24, and three-time Grammy-nominated roots reggae legends Wailing Souls and L.A. rockabilly faves Gamblers Mark on Aug. 25.

Set times and additional programming times will be announced two weeks prior to the first weekend of events. Learn more at
