Big Hit Entertainment, the billion-dollar agency behind K-pop superstars BTS, announced on Monday that it has acquired the Seoul-based music game company Superb. Financial details were not disclosed, though both firms said Superb will maintain its independence and current management structure.
Superb said it would develop new games using Big Hit’s music and intellectual property, with Superb co-CEO David Kim calling it a "new opportunity for everyone." Big Hit founder and CEO Bang Si-hyuk echoed that sentiment.
"Big Hit believes games is an industry that can create strong synergy with music, our main focus," Bang said. "We believe this acquisition will provide positive value and opportunities to the both companies, as well as Big Hit’s expanding multi-labels."
