Vevo Reveals Its 10 Top Most-Watched Videos of All Time: Exclusive

As we approach the end of the 2010s and Vevo celebrates its 10-year anniversary, the video hosting service is unveiling its most-viewed videos -- globally, in the U.S. and the U.K. -- of all time, and Billboard has the exclusive. While a few are hardly surprising -- Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” remains a monster, surprising no one -- there are a few top 10 entires that you wouldn’t see coming.

As previously mentioned, “Despacito” remains the global champ in terms of Vevo views*, and it comes in as the sixth-most watched video in the U.S. on Vevo. But the No. 1 Vevo clip in America and the United Kingdom is the No. 2 global victor: “Uptown Funk” from Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. Videos from Taylor Swift (“Shake It Off”), Katy Perry (“Roar”) and Adele (“Hello”) appear in all three top 10 lists, but there’s certainly a few unexpected success stories.

Silentó’s viral smash “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” was enough of a force to earn him the second most-watched video in Vevo’s American history -- which is pretty incredible when you think of the windfall of viral videos that followed that 2015 single. Also interesting: Maroon 5 appears on the top 10 most-watched lists globally and in the U.K. (with “Sugar” and “Girls Like You” ft. Cardi B, respectively), but the American band didn’t actually notch an entry in the U.S. top 10.

Check out the global, U.S. and U.K. top 10 lists below, as well as 10-year anniversary well wishes to Vevo from Luis Fonsi, the Chainsmokers, Julia Michaels, Tori Kelly and Fletcher.

Luis Fonsi: “Being able to share my music is something absolutely valuable to me, and thanks to Vevo, I am able to do just that. Throughout this 10 years, Vevo has completely changed the game, has opened up endless opportunities for artists to connect with millions of people around the world, get instant reaction from fans, and also explore music from different artists/genres. Happy 10th anniversary Vevo, keep up the good work and thanks again for opening the door for us artists to the world through your platform.”

Alex Pall & Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers: "For our entire career, Vevo has been such an incredible partner. Vevo, JP Evangelista, and the team there have always put our artistic vision first and helped us amplify the music videos tremendously on a global scale. Some of our proudest videos to date are the live recreations of our songs for Vevo Official Live Performances campaign that we worked hand in hand with their team on. Vevo understands how to help artists make their inspirations come alive.”

Julia Michaels: “One of the first live sessions I ever filmed was for Vevo DSCVR. From day one they embraced and supported me as an artist. I’m so thankful for all they’ve done and continue to do to connect artists to fans around the world.”

Tori Kelly: “Throughout my career, Vevo has played a big role in me reaching my fans. Thank you Vevo for all of the amazing support you give to me and other artists.”

Fletcher: “When you’re a new artist, early support from such a major platform like Vevo makes the world's difference. Vevo has introduced me to so many of my favorite artists, so the fact that they have rallied behind me from my first release "Wasted Youth" all the way to my biggest "Undrunk," and have allowed so many new eyes to ~dscvr~ me and my music has been career-changing for me. They’ve provided me with a platform to share my vision, my stories and my TMI feelings on a global scale. I'm forever grateful for their support and in lifting me up.”
