Questlove is making moves in the podcasting space.

The Roots drummer and Tonight Show musical director has signed a deal to bring new seasons of his weekly podcast Questlove Supreme to iHeartMedia’s iHeartPodcast Network, it was announced Wednesday (Sept. 25). As part of the deal, Questlove will also curate and produce a new slate of iHeartRadio Original content early next year.

“We’ve attracted an incredibly passionate and enthusiastic fan base so far with Questlove Supreme, and partnering with iHeartMedia, the leader in the audio space, will now allow us to bring these conversations to a much larger audience and take it to the next level,” said Questlove in a statement. “I’m also excited to have the opportunity to launch even more thought-provoking content within the iHeartRadio ecosystem and beyond.”

Questlove Supreme is hosted by Questlove and five of his closest friends and features a new celebrity guest each episode. Previous guests have included Michelle Obama, Chris Rock, Usher, Chaka Khan, Maya Rudolph and "Weird Al" Yankovic.

“Questlove is a treasure trove of musical and historical knowledge, with one of the smartest perspectives on culture today, and we are thrilled to partner with him to bring his podcast and a new slate of original content to the iHeartPodcast Network,” added iHeartPodcast Network president Conal Byrne. “It’s always amazing to work with your heroes – and, for us, that’s Questlove. His passion is a great complement to our music podcasts, and with our unmatched reach across multiple platforms, we can’t wait to share ‘Questlove Supreme’ with more listeners than ever before.”

Previous episodes of Questlove Supreme aired on Pandora, where Questlove served as an artist ambassador and adviser. In a January 2017 cover story for Billboard in which he appeared with Pandora co-founder and then-CEO Tim Westergren, the musician noted that he received an equity stake in the company for his role.

New episodes of Questlove Supreme are slated to begin airing weekly Nov. 6 on iHeartRadio and all digital podcast platforms. It will also be distributed across iHeartMedia’s broadcast radio stations -- presumably as part of the company's "Podcast, Meet Broadcast" programming initiative -- and social media channels.

iHeartMedia has been making a concerted effort to beef up its presence in the podcasting arena over the past year, including its September 2018 acquisition of the popular podcasting network Stuff Media and its launch of such iHeartPodcast Originals as Chelsea Handler: Life Will Be the Death of Me, Insomniac, Sleepwalkers, Noble Blood and Committed. In August, the company reported a 33% increase in digital revenue in the second quarter of 2019, aided by 300% growth in its podcast listenership on the iHeartRadio app and a 277% rise in its unique monthly podcast audience.
