The Danish quartet’s “7 Years” shoots to No. 1 on real-time Emerging Artists chart.

Danish quartet Lukas Graham is breaking through to America with their European hit “7 Years."
The group, led by Lukas Graham Forchhammer on vocals, hit No. 1 on the real time Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists ranking on Nov. 16 with the song "7 Years,” following success on Spotify’s Viral Hits playlist and Viral 50 chart.

Billboard + Twitter's Emerging Artists chart, an extension of the Trending 140, tracks the most shared songs from up-and-coming artists on Twitter over the last 24 hours. In order to remain eligible, an act has to have less than 100,000 Twitter followers and has had neither a song in the top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100 nor the top 50 of the Billboard 200 as a lead artist.
The Warner Bros.-signed soul-pop act also hit the weekly Emerging Artists chart last week (chart dated Nov. 21) at No. 11 with "7 Years," a piano-led mid-tempo track that follows the progression of the song's narrator from age 7 to 60 years old.

"7 Years” has already hit No. 1 in a number of European countries, topping Nielsen Music’s digital song charts in Denmark, Luxembourg and Sweden.
The song is beginning to receive radio play in the U.S., with 18 plays from KROQ in Los Angeles leading the way during the most recent tracking week (ending Nov. 15).
The band’s self-titled new album is out in its home country, but a U.S. release date has not yet been set. For American fans who can’t quite get enough, an additional single, “Mama Said,” is also out now.
